During the holiday period, traffic was heavy on the roads of the Jelenia Góra region. There were 15 collisions throughout the region, most commonly caused by failing to keep a safe distance and rear-ending another vehicle. Fortunately, no road accident occurred during this period.
The safety of valley residents and tourists who visited the Jelenia Góra area during those days was monitored by both officers from the Road Traffic Department and officers from the Prevention Department. The officers issued 150 fines for various road violations, mainly speeding. They also detained one intoxicated driver.
During the holiday period, police officers intervened repeatedly—213 times—in homes and on the streets, dealing with disturbances of the peace at night and arguments started by intoxicated people. They checked the identities of 850 people.
