Opening the gathering, the Regiment’s commander, Col. Paweł Świtalski, extended Easter greetings to the soldiers and attending guests:
As every year, on the eve of Easter, we meet to celebrate together the oldest and most important Christian holidays, commemorated in memory of Christ’s death and resurrection. On this special day, please accept our wishes for joy and peace—not only during the holidays spent with family and loved ones, but also in your daily service and work.
The participants also received greetings from Bolesławiec Deputy Mayor Kornel Filipowicz and from Stanisław Chwojnicki, representing the Bolesławiec County head, who spoke warmly about the successful cooperation and the artillerymen’s activities in the local community.
The Regiment’s chaplain, 2nd Lt. Rev. Paweł Antkiewicz, said a prayer and, in a brief reflection, addressed the significance of the most important event in the liturgical year: the celebration of the Paschal Mystery. The symbolism of the oldest Christian holidays was also emphasized by Rev. Dr. Stanisław Kusik, dean of the Bolesławiec West Deanery.
After the clergy blessed the dishes served at the Easter table, the soldiers and invited guests shared an egg—the symbol of renewed life—and then sampled traditional Easter dishes. Prepared by the cooks of the logistics battalion, they delighted all the participants of the artillerymen’s Easter gathering, as they do every year.
