Officers from the Prevention Department of the Lubin police headquarters arrested four residents of Legnica, aged between 26 and 35. The men are suspected of burglary at an outbuilding in Lubin. The perpetrators stole power tools worth more than PLN 5,000. Their swift arrest was possible thanks to information provided by one of Lubin’s residents.
Police determined that the perpetrators must have prepared for the theft well in advance. Their navigation system was set to the address where the items they were interested in were supposedly located. It was meant to be a quick operation. They drove to the specified address. Three of them broke into the outbuilding where the power tools were stored. The fourth waited for his accomplices in the car with the engine running.
The entire situation was observed by a Lubin resident, who informed the Lubin police duty officer about the burglary. The information quickly reached officers in the city.
Having information about the make and color of the car used by the perpetrators, the officers began searching for them. One patrol spotted the wanted car on the outskirts of the city. The driver initially tried to avoid being stopped. However, after a brief chase, he was detained in Lubin Gmina, along with the remaining perpetrators. The police recovered all the stolen items.
All four detainees now face up to 10 years in prison.
