– The run will take place on 22 March at 3:00 p.m. in the MPP No. 4 kindergarten yard at 9 Sądowa Street. The children are running for the second time – reports Jolanta Mienculewicz, director of MPP No. 4 in Bolesławiec. The community of Municipal Public Kindergarten No. 4 in Bolesławiec sent a letter to sponsors:

Dear Sponsors,

we, the children of Municipal Public Kindergarten No. 4 in Bolesławiec, are running for the second time to bring smiles to our friends from Wrocław Hospice for Children. The sponsored “Children for Children” Run, which will take place on the grounds of our kindergarten on 22 March 2016 at 3:00 p.m., is organized as part of the 3rd Wrocław Sponsored Run for children from Wrocław Hospice.

Why are we running?

We are healthy, physically active and sensitive to the suffering of others. We do not have our own money to give to sick children. But we have plenty of strength and joy in life to run for them!!!!

What is a sponsored run?

Every kind-hearted person or sponsor puts at least 5 zlotys into a collection box for each lap completed by a kindergarten child. The money raised will be donated to the Wrocław Hospice for Children Foundation, whose aim is to obtain funds for the hospice’s activities.

What is the money being collected for?

Although the hospice is based in Wrocław, its area of operation covers all of Lower Silesia. The children remain in their homes, with their families, in familiar and close surroundings. Doctors, nurses, rehabilitation therapists and volunteers travel to them. Most illnesses have a chronic neurological or genetic basis. The hospice also helps children after completing cancer treatment and those who have suffered accidents. Trained staff strive to be with the young patients whenever they need them, when pain must be relieved or the proper functioning of a weakened body monitored.

In reality, the hospice patient is not only the child but the entire family, which also needs constant care from a doctor or psychologist. In addition, expensive medical equipment is purchased using funds raised from the public.
