Andrzej Chodyra served as acting head of PWiK from 5 July 2006 to 5 January 2007. During this time, the company’s director was to be selected through a competition. However, on 5 January, voivode Krzysztof Grzelczyk once again appointed Andrzej Chodyra as acting head of PWiK, a position he is to hold until the company’s commercialisation is completed.
Józef Burniak, a former director of PWiK, is convinced that voivode Krzysztof Grzelczyk’s decision to reappoint Andrzej Chodyra as acting head of PWiK is unlawful. He therefore notified the District Prosecutor’s Office in Wrocław of the matter.
According to Józef Burniak, the voivode broke the law by reappointing Andrzej Chodyra as acting head of PWiK (Article 33 of the State-Owned Enterprises Act). Andrzej Chodyra is acting head of PWiK despite opposition from the Works Council—one of the company’s governing bodies—so the employees filed a lawsuit in the Commercial Court in Jelenia Góra. The Ministry of the Interior and Administration was also informed of the entire matter.
Despite repeated attempts, we were unable to obtain a comment from Andrzej Chodyra.
