The accident occurred on March 2 on Ogińskiego Street in Jelenia Góra. The injured woman, who had suffered fractures, was taken to hospital. The people involved in the incident were sober.
That same day, four collisions occurred on the region’s roads. Their main cause was failure to maintain a safe distance between vehicles. Fortunately, none of those involved suffered serious injuries.
– Pedestrians should also exercise particular caution when crossing the road. A crossing should not be treated as an enclave of safety, nor should people run directly in front of a vehicle, thereby creating a safety hazard – officers from Jelenia Góra explain.
The police are appealing for caution and common sense on the road. – Drivers, ease off the accelerator. The roads are slippery. Let us maintain safe distances between vehicles. Recklessness, excessive speed and alcohol are the most common causes of collisions and accidents. Sometimes a few seconds determine a person’s life or health. Let us take care of our own safety and that of other road users – the officers add.
