Participants in the event will include students from 11 schools in Lower Silesia and Lubusz Province that educate young people in uniformed classes, as well as soldiers from units of the 11th Lubusz Armored Cavalry Division and trainees undergoing preparatory service for the National Reserve Forces.
The organizers of the event, which has received the patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda, are the Association of Former Soldiers of the 62nd Special Company “Commando” and the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment, whose training facilities will host it.
Programme of observances (March 1):
- at 8:00 a.m. – lecture “The Cursed Soldiers in the Struggle for Poland’s Independence” – history PhD Jerzy Kirszak from the Wrocław branch of the Institute of National Remembrance (venue: Bolesławiec Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 3 Kościelna Street)
- at 9:00 a.m. – start of manoeuvres at the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec (23rd SAR parade ground)
- at 9:10–11:30 a.m. – drill, firearms construction and shooting tournament activities
- at 12:00 p.m. – “For the Cursed Soldiers 1963” run
- at 1:00 p.m. – ceremonial assembly (summary of the run and shooting tournament, roll call of remembrance, parade; venue: 23rd SAR parade ground).
