The incident occurred on 18 February 2016 in one of Lubin’s housing estates. At around 3:00 a.m., a woman living in the city called the Lubin police duty officer and said that she could see two men beating another man.
The police officer sent a patrol to the scene. The officers arrested the perpetrators, two residents of Lubin, aged 21 and 29. Both were drunk, with nearly 2 per mille of alcohol in their systems.
The police determined that the victim had been standing outside one of the establishments. An unknown man then approached him and struck him in the face. Another man quickly joined the attacker. Together, they beat and kicked the victim.
It turned out that the aggressors had beaten the passerby for no reason at all. Both were taken into police custody. They face up to three years in prison.
