The programme includes a photography exhibition and a presentation of literary works by seniors from the Zielonogórski University of the Third Age. Admission is free.
As part of the “Pejzaże życia – widziane oczami słuchaczy Zielonogórskiego Uniwersytetu Trzeciego Wieku” event, a photography exhibition titled “The Beauty of Bolesławiec and Its Surroundings Through a Senior’s Lens” will be presented. It features works by members of the FotoX Photography Club, alongside a presentation of literary works by seniors from the “Oksymoron” Literary Club.
The initiative to present part of the achievements of the Zielonogórski University of the Third Age was conceived during last year’s Bolesławiec Ceramics Festival. At the invitation of Wiesława Olczyk, President of the University of the Third Age in Bolesławiec, seniors from Zielona Góra took part in the event, talking about their activities and passions. The event was inspired by the desire to show seniors in Bolesławiec that seniors from nearby Zielona Góra are involved in a similarly broad range of activities, and that everything depends on us.
The Zielonogórski University of the Third Age was established in 1992 and will celebrate its 25th anniversary this year. Zofia Banaszak, a co-founder of the association, has served as its president from the beginning. Since 1994, the association has held public benefit organisation status.
The aim of ZUTW is to undertake and develop social initiatives in science, education, culture and ecology, as well as physical culture and sport, by providing educational, health, cultural, creative, local-history and tourism activities for older people. Social activation and improving the quality of life of older people means creating conditions for ageing well.
There are currently more than 800 ZUTW students. They come from different backgrounds and social groups and vary in age, education and interests; all are united, however, by a desire to continue learning, develop their interests, broaden their horizons and pursue self-fulfilment.
The Zielonogórski University of the Third Age has become a permanent part of the city and region’s community as one of the significant institutions of social life. It co-organises many events.
The meeting is organised by: Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre, the Zielonogórski University of the Third Age and the University of the Third Age in Bolesławiec.
