Students are visiting our centre, knowing that spending the winter break in the city does not have to be boring, and are enthusiastically taking advantage of the wide range of free workshops held in well-equipped rooms by experienced instructors. The Forum Cinema programme prepared for the winter break will also continue.
During the second week of the winter break, in addition to the continuing vocal, theatre, children’s aerobics, folk dance and oriental dance workshops, there are also new offerings. Hip-hop dance workshops with Katarzyna Tomczyk - Jakubowska have begun, teaching the basics of dance to beginners.
The visual arts workshops “Impressions - painting and fabric workshops”, led by Magdalena Konieczna, focus on painting techniques, collage and working with fabric - batik and stamping. The workshops for school-age young people, “Here’s a net, sit in it if you want, or the charms of winter (and let summer fly elsewhere),” will be led by instructors Katarzyna Zarówny and Czesław Matyjewicz. During the classes, participants will be tasked with interpreting the concept of a “net” and expressing it artistically using simple means of expression - ribbons and cords. The resulting installation, which will extend across the exhibition space of the “W sam raz” gallery (the Forum Cinema building), can be viewed at our centre for one week after the workshops conclude.
The participants of the film workshops “No to CIK! It’s rolling!” will meet later today. Michał Szwed is introducing them to the secrets of post-production in film and television, as well as film techniques.
The Winter Break at Forum Cinema is still ongoing. We invite you on Wednesday (10 February) to “Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty 3D”, and on Friday (12 February) to the film “Yogi Bear 3D” - this is a special winter-break offer, so 3D films can be seen for only PLN 10. In addition, as part of the regular programme, we invite you through Thursday (11 February) to the Spanish animated film “A Foxy Adventure”, while from Friday a new title will be on screen, not only for the youngest viewers: the comedy set in a big city, the animated film “A Bear in New York”.
This coming Saturday, as part of the “Morning Encore” series, the screening will feature the digitally restored Polish animated film “Please, Elephant” - a film worth remembering and showing to our children. Tickets cost only PLN 9.
Everyone interested in the achievements of the participants who spent their free time at the Orzeł Cultural Integration Centre attending vocal, theatre and film workshops is invited to the “Valentine’s summary of activities during the winter break”, which will take place at CIK “Orzeł” on 12 February at 6:00 p.m. Admission is free.
