The Wojakowski Training Centre has long organized speed-reading courses as well as memory and attention-concentration training. In 1997 and 1998, the centre’s graduates broke as many as eight Guinness memory records. However, the skills acquired during the course are useful not only when breaking records.
"Our offer is addressed to everyone who wants to exercise their memorization and attention-concentration abilities," says Kornel Filipowicz, who leads classes at the Centre’s Bolesławiec branch. "The exercises we perform during the training are beneficial for children with minor brain damage, dysorthography and dyslexia. We work in small groups, which allows us to devote as much time to each person as necessary," explains Kornel Filipowicz.
For everyone?
Speed reading is not recommended for people who savour literature and the writer’s style. During the training, participants focus on absorbing and understanding as much information as possible in the shortest time, rather than on the way it is written.
The Bolesławiec branch invites those who want to see what the classes look like and what people can do after a year-long course to a special demonstration, which will take place on Friday at 5:00 p.m. at Primary School No. 1.
