During this third week of training, several hundred battalion soldiers carried out training tasks on tactical lanes and firing ranges, facing changeable weather and sudden temperature fluctuations of up to several degrees. The soldiers conducted firing exercises with individual weapons as well as weapons mounted on combat vehicles. They also performed tasks on tactical lanes, improving their ability to cooperate at crew and platoon level.
“Improving skills in conducting a march, occupying an assembly area, deploying forces and responding to all types of threats”—this was how Captain Jan Bochnacki, commander of the 1st mechanized company, described the objectives he intended to achieve during one of the many tactical training sessions conducted by the battalion’s subunits.
