On Saturday, TOP Ekoceramika Bolesławiec played another second-league table tennis match. Their opponents were Odra II Księginice. They were one of two teams that managed to defeat TOP Bolesławiec in the first round. However, players competing in the Ekstraklasa could not appear in the return match, and a very young but experienced team came to the game (Odra’s young players are currently among the best in the country in their age category).
The match began with TOP leading 3–1, and after the two doubles games, the scoreboard already showed a 5–1 lead for the Bolesławiec team. The final singles games also ended with a 3–1 score in favour of the hosts, while the entire match concluded with a deserved 8–2 victory for TOP.
TOP’s points were scored by: Łukasz Jaźwiec 2.5; Robert Girulski 2.5; Jarosław Girulski 2.5; Tomasz Fortunko 0.5. Following another victory, TOP Ekoceramika are second in the second-league table tennis standings, four points behind the leaders from Gorzów. The next match will be played away. On 17 March, TOP will face the table’s fourth-placed team, SKS Raszówka.
