On January 24, the duty officer at the Police Station in Bogatynia received a telephone report about a passenger car on fire. The initial activities carried out at the scene indicated that the vehicle had been deliberately set on fire. The perpetrator caused damage amounting to more than PLN 30,000.
Based on the evidence gathered in the case, including an inspection of the scene and witness interviews, police officers from Bogatynia identified a suspect. He turned out to be a 28-year-old man without a permanent place of residence, who was detained on one of the streets of Bogatynia.
The arsonist faces up to 5 years in prison.
