The stage, flashing with lights, was decorated with a fanciful paper cake and wooden angels made by children from the art workshop in Kruszyn under the direction of Krystyna Grela—and it was they who opened the artistic presentation. Their interpretation of Grieg’s Morning was a happening entitled “How a Picture Is Created.”

A red frame from the picture, beautifully dressed children, dance and music created an unforgettable atmosphere. Next, the young residents of Mierzwin, Zuzia and Bianka Bukraba, performed on stage. They sang two songs, “Shine, Little Star” and “Our Whole World.” The girls—Martyna Markusz, Julia Nowacka, Jagoda Kurowska and Julia Bryłkowska—gave a very interesting performance accompanied by four guitars. They practise at the Community House in Otok under the watchful eye of their instructor, Bronisław Górecki.

The students of Agnieszka Orawiec—Natalia Dymarska, Monika Dymarska, Piotruś Orawiec, Wiktoria Orawiec, Dominika Wróblewska, Patryk Smogur, Oskar Smogur and Janek Kozicki—performed carols interspersed with songs about grandmothers and grandfathers. At the end of the event, adult dancers Monika Blacha-Rak and Marcin Blacha presented a dance from the film “Dirty Dancing”; they had been prepared by Elżbieta Tor. Spectacular lifts and other original elements aroused great interest among the audience, and the couple received thunderous applause. In addition to the wonderful performers, the audience also turned out in force. Grandmothers, grandfathers and dependable parents enthusiastically applauded their children.

We sincerely thank everyone who took part, as well as the parents who baked delicious cakes especially for the event. The entire event was organised by the Municipal Cultural and Sports Centre in Bolesławiec, based in Kruszyn.
