On Friday at around 10:30 a.m., the police received a telephone report from one of the patients that the doctor seeing patients at the office on Chopin Street was intoxicated. When the police arrived, several patients were waiting outside the office, while one was inside. An ambulance was called and took him to hospital because the 24-year-old had a nose injury and was bleeding. The patrol took the drunk doctor to police headquarters.

A breathalyser test showed that the doctor was indeed drunk. Proceedings were initiated against Zdzisław B. under Article 70 of the Code of Petty Offences, which concerns, among other things, performing professional duties while intoxicated. This type of offence is punishable by up to 30 days in detention or a fine of up to PLN 5,000. The police will investigate whether the fact that the doctor was drunk endangered the lives of any patients.
