We particularly recommend events held as part of Cultural Thursdays in the Forum auditorium, including the exceptional music and dance performance “Hear the Dance – Tap Masters” in January, a concert in a romantic Valentine’s Day setting by Janusz Radek/Poświatowska in February, and Michał Bajor’s “My Love” concert in April.
Hear the Dance – Tap Masters
The “Hear the Dance” performance, featuring the extraordinary artist Michał Czachowski, a world-class flamenco guitarist and creator of the Indialucia project, will take place on Thursday, 14 January at 7:00 p.m.
“Hear the Dance” is an extraordinary spectacle featuring various forms of tap dancing: flamenco, Irish and American step dancing, contemporary dance, and ethnojazz music performed live. It is a colorful performance in which dance forms an integral part of the music, and music of the dance. Different musical cultures meet in one place, while tradition and modernity become synonymous. The project is created by outstanding dancers and musicians, soloists from performances in Europe and the USA: Mateusz Wójcik, Agata Teodorczyk, Karol Drzewoszewski and Monika Bral.
This is the first project in Poland, and one of only a few in the world, to combine flamenco, Irish music and jazz. It is a harmonious collage of different musical traditions in contemporary arrangements. Under the direction of Tomasz Biela, it is created by outstanding musicians representing different musical cultures: Damian Kowaliński, Witold Kulczycki, Małgorzata Mycek, Piotr Rogacki and Borja Soto. The result of their collaboration is a unique ethnojazz fusion whose aim is to demonstrate the possibility of cultures coexisting in the contemporary world.
Janusz Radek’s Concert
On Thursday, 11 February at 7:00 p.m., Janusz Radek will perform the Poświatowska/Radek programme in the Forum auditorium on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. The artist, well known and popular with Bolesławiec audiences, is returning once again to the poetry of Halina Poświatowska. In a very modern, even experimental-electronic interpretation, he sings and performs his compositions to lyrics by Halina Poświatowska.
The Artist himself promises that it will be an exceptionally emotional evening, full of ambiguity and subtlety on the one hand, but also of the irony and contrariness for which both the poet and Janusz Radek are known. The concert programme will include previously known songs: “I Wait Patiently,” “Scheila” and “When You-Love,” as well as new ones: “If You Want to Keep Me,” “Without You,” “In Your Perfect Fingers” and others.
Michał Bajor’s “My Love” Concert
As part of Cultural Thursdays, Michał Bajor’s “My Love” concert will take place in the Forum auditorium on 7 April at 7:00 p.m.
“My Love” is another original recital by Michał Bajor, as well as his 19th CD under the same title. It is also the artist’s third consecutive meeting—with “From Piaf to Garou” and “My Journeys” preceding it—with the master of outstanding songs, Wojciech Młynarski. This time, the performer has collected 17 hits about love: songs hummed by generations and known to listeners of all generations. These include, among others, “The Beautiful Cellist,” “We Will Discover an Unknown Love,” “Oh Life, I Love You More Than Life” and “I Like to Come Back.” Sung to this day by outstanding female and male vocalists, they were selected by the artist from hundreds of songs that Wojciech Młynarski masterfully gave us over the decades. During the concert, Michał Bajor will also perform two new songs written for him by the master and recorded on the album as duets with Alicja Majewska and Ania Wyszkoni.
We invite you to an evening full of hit-song memories—an exceptionally melodic evening with songs in a wide variety of moods and rhythms.
Tickets are on sale at the Forum cinema box office (the box office is open until Wednesday, 23 December!). Details and reservations are available on the Bolesławiec cinema website. The “Cultural Gift” envelopes are available at the Forum cinema box office and will be provided at the request of customers purchasing gift tickets—for screenings from the Forum cinema programme and for cultural events held in the Forum auditorium. We invite you.
