The film “The Call” is beautiful, magnetic and mysterious cinema, acclaimed at festivals in Rotterdam and Wrocław. It is an adaptation of Kazimierz Orłoś’s story “Kingfisher,” with stunning cinematography by Tomasz Woźniczka. After the screening, lovers of good cinema will have the opportunity to discuss the film with Marcinem Dudziakiem.

In “The Call,” a father and son’s journey down a mountain river gives rise to a metaphysical story about exceptional moments in the life of a ten-year-old boy. Curiosity and the desire for new experiences overcome his fear of the unknown world. Faced with danger, he undergoes a transformation; nothing will ever be the same for him again. Marcin Dudziak’s poetic debut is the first truly New Horizons-style Polish film, in the spirit of the great achievements of contemporary art house cinema.
