At the preschool, the children discussed the cartoons they had watched at Kino Forum and then tried to answer the following questions: Who is a friend? Whom can we call a friend? Is it good to have a friend? Why is it worth having a friend?
During engaging and developmental games, the children had to complete the sentences “A friend is needed when...”, “When I am sad, a friend...”, “With a friend I can...”. The preschoolers cut out little hearts for their friends, and seeing the children giving gifts to one another was very pleasant and heartwarming. The result of the activities connected with film education, conducted by the Association for Film Education Horizons and BOK-MCC, was the creation of artwork entitled “My Friend”.
School Film Library is a project under the patronage of the Minister of National Education and the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, recommended by several provincial education superintendents.
This is an important and interesting programme that Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre has been running continuously since October 2008. The main part of the project is a programme of monthly meetings at the cinema, during which children watch films or cartoons selected and arranged into thematic series. Each teacher receives educational materials containing lesson plans for Polish language, cultural studies, history, civics and class meetings. The film is preceded by an interesting introduction.
Schools and preschools participating in the project are promoted and featured on the Istotne.pl website and in the newspaper, because this way of educating children is worth supporting and its value is worth highlighting. We invite you to take part in the School Film Library at BOK-MCC and to send us your accounts of how film activities are carried out at your institutions. We thank Ms
Małgorzata Szewczyk from MPP No. 7 for the submitted material.
