Jelenia Góra County took first place in the category of the most sports-oriented county as part of the Lower Silesian School Youth Games, the Lower Silesian Middle School Youth Games and the Lower Silesian High School Youth Games during the 2014/2015 school year. The sports participation coefficient for our county was 10.56, bringing it a decisive victory. The statuette and diploma for Jelenia Góra County were accepted from Lower Silesian Education Superintendent Beata Pawłowicz and Jerzy Michalak, a member of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Board, by Wiesław Dzierzba, director of the Promotion, Culture and Sport Department, and Bronisława Kuchmistrz, vice-president of PSZS.

In the 2014/2015 school year, the sports competitions for educational institutions in Lower Silesia involved 552 primary schools, 345 middle schools and 194 upper-secondary schools. A total of 4,877 students from primary, middle and upper-secondary schools in Jelenia Góra County earned 51,507 points in sports disciplines including relay cross-country races, individual cross-country races, athletics, basketball, volleyball, handball, football, table tennis, badminton and beach ball.

In the ranking of primary schools in Lower Silesia, the highest-placed was Primary School No. 1 in Piechowice, which came ninth. Primary School No. 1 in Szklarska Poręba came 39th, while the Primary School in Karpacz came 67th. Among middle schools, the highest position went to the Sports Championship Middle School in Szklarska Poręba, which came 15th, followed by the Middle School in Jeżów Sudecki in 96th place and the Middle School in Karpacz in 98th place. In the ranking of upper-secondary schools, the highest position was taken by the General and Sports Championship School Complex in Szklarska Poręba, which came 11th, followed by the Upper-Secondary School Complex in Karpacz in 96th place and the Technical and Comprehensive School Complex in Piechowice in 100th place.
