The National Rock Blok w Bok Music Band Showcase is being held in Bolesławiec for the ninth time. On September 25, auditions will be held for several dozen bands from almost all over Poland. A jury consisting of professional musicians will select the five best bands, which will take part in the finale on September 26.

Stars at Rock Blok w BOK

Rock Blok w BOK is also very popular among Bolesławiec residents because of performances by leading Polish musicians. Previous editions featured such popular bands as O.N.A., Kult and Acid Drinkers. This year, too, an undisputed star will perform – Closterkeller. The band began performing in 1988 and has remained among Poland’s most popular performers ever since. Very well received by audiences, it has also performed before concerts by Jethro Tull and Paradise Lost. The central figure in Closterkeller is the charismatic Anja Orthodox, the band’s vocalist and lyricist. During this year’s edition of Rock Blok w BOK, she will also serve as a jury member.

Not only famous names

The showcase attracts audiences not only with concerts by popular performers, but also with performances by bands just taking their first steps on the music scene. The most interesting of them will not only warm up the audience before the star’s performance, but will also win attractive prizes. This year, the prize is PLN 2,000 and the opportunity to record an album at Jacek Krzaklewski’s “Bluesaw” studio in Wrocław.

Admission to the auditions costs PLN 5; tickets for the final concert cost PLN 20 in advance and PLN 25 on the day of the concert.
