This year’s record was set by Łukasz Storczyński from the Lubin Miasto PZW Angling Club, who caught the longest fish. The winning pike measured as much as 74 centimetres. “The diversity of angling clubs operating in the municipality demonstrates the immense passion and interests of its residents. Fishing is certainly one such passion—it requires great precision and patience, even when time matters and competitors have to compete against one another,” says Władysław Bigus, mayor of Rudna Municipality Władysław Bigus.

Thirty-six anglers from nine Angling Clubs took part in the competition, including the Orsk Stodółka, Lubin Miasto, Wołów, Kolejarz Legnica and Amos Leszno clubs. The decisive winner was Łukasz Stroczyński. Coming just behind him on the podium was Zbigniew Czech (Orsk Stodółka PZW Angling Club), with a 71-centimetre asp. Third place went to Grzegorz Wiśniewski, also from the Orsk Stodółka Club, with a 55-centimetre pike.

The event was organised by the KLEŃ Chobienia Spinning Club, the Miasto Lubin PZW Angling Club and the Chobienia Cultural Centre.
