The entire month of October was devoted to broadly understood addictions, both those known for a long time (addiction to psychoactive substances, nicotine and alcohol) and those encountered only recently—infoholism and steroid addiction.

The students took part in classes on designer drugs conducted by W. Babarowski. They participated in thematic classes as part of ethics and education for family life. They prepared displays on the topics discussed, which were then put up in the school corridors.

The student council conducted a campaign distributing leaflets among young people about the harmfulness of designer drugs. As part of parents’ educational outreach, a guide entitled “About Medicines, Marijuana and Designer Drugs Without Hysteria” was sent via the Librus system.

As every year, the School Prevention Days on Addictions concluded with a Literary and Art Competition on addictions, addressed to all lower secondary school students from the town and municipality of Bogatynia. This year, for the second time, the Bogatynia Town and Municipality Library—Children’s and Youth Department—joined in organizing the competition. The formal award ceremony took place on November 3 at the Library. The awards were presented by A. Balcer, director of the Bogatynia Town and Municipality Library, and E. Brożek, director of PG No. 1.
