There is good news regarding the overdue money from last year’s scholarship project (the 2005/2006 school year). Employees of the Education Department of the Bolesławiec County Office report that on December 22, the final tranche of money for the payment of EU scholarships (financed, among other sources, by the European Social Fund) was credited to the county office’s account. The money, totaling more than PLN 435,000, has already reached more than six hundred scholarship recipients (over the past three days). This makes it possible to complete the second scholarship project implemented by the county. The first concerned the 2004/2005 school year.

“The project took a heavy toll on both the scholarship recipients and the department’s officials. Ministerial procedures were complicated, and expenses were reimbursed on the basis of invoices and other documents. Fortunately, this problem no longer affects the current beneficiaries,” says Alicja Krzyszczak of the Education, Culture, Physical Culture and Sport Department of the Bolesławiec County Office. Simplifying the rules for paying scholarships made it possible to pay the first funds from this year’s project on time. For the period from September to December this year, each scholarship recipient received PLN 400.

Anyone who has not yet received scholarship assistance but is interested in the possibility of obtaining a scholarship is asked to contact Alicja Krzyszczak of the Education, Culture, Physical Culture and Sport Department of the Bolesławiec County Office in Bolesławiec, 2 Piłsudskiego Square, room 708, seventh floor; tel.: 075 735 1877 or 735 1878.
