The Tourist Ticket is valid for as many as 5 days during the Christmas holidays. It offers the opportunity to travel cheaply on all PKP Przewozy Regionalne trains for PLN 60 in 2nd class and PLN 80 in 1st class. The ticket is valid from 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 22, until 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 27, or from 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 29, until 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2007.

People traveling with children can take advantage of cheaper Family Fares. The offer is intended for people traveling on passenger and fast trains with children under 16. The 33-percent discount is available to a maximum of two adults traveling with a maximum of two children under 16. Eligibility for a family fare is confirmed by a document stating the child’s age.

People traveling no more than 200 km can purchase an Excursion Ticket with a 15-percent discount, valid in 2nd class on passenger and fast trains along the specified route. The Excursion Ticket entitles passengers to travel from 8:00 p.m. on a working day—for example, after 8:00 p.m. on Friday—immediately preceding consecutive days off work, or on a day off work (Saturday, Sunday or a public holiday).

During the Christmas and New Year period, some trains from Bolesławiec will not operate on certain days or will run on modified schedules:

  • the “KWISA” train from Wrocław (5:44 p.m.) to Lubań Śl. (at Bolesławiec at 7:28 p.m.) operates only on Fridays, and additionally on Thursday, December 21. It will not operate on Friday, December 29
  • the “KWISA” train at 5:54 p.m. to Wrocław Gł. operates only on Sundays, and additionally on Monday, January 1, 2007. It will not operate on Sundays, December 24 and 31
  • the 4:19 a.m. train to Wrocław Gł. will not operate on December 25 and 26 or January 1
  • the 8:38 p.m. train to Węgliniec will not operate on December 24, 25 or 31.

People planning a holiday break in the nearby Karkonosze Mountains can take advantage of the PKP offer. Traveling by train from Bolesławiec to Szklarska Poręba requires two changes—in Węgliniec and Jelenia Góra—according to the following schedule:

  • Bolesławiec 7:20 a.m. -> Węgliniec 7:40 a.m. (passenger train)
  • Węgliniec 7:57 a.m. -> Jelenia Góra 9:27 a.m. (passenger train)
  • Jelenia Góra 9:31 a.m. -> Szklarska Poręba Górna 10:34 a.m. (fast train)

Travel time: 3 hours 14 minutes. Regular 2nd-class ticket price: PLN 22.50.

A ZVON day ticket valid on the Bolesławiec - Węgliniec - Jelenia Góra / Goerlitz route costs PLN 20.
