After the Mass, a ceremonial procession took place through the city's streets, attended by local government officials, invited guests, flag bearers, and associations and organizations from the city and municipality of Bogatynia.
Another very important element of Independence Day was the laying of flowers at the monument in John Paul II Park.
Next, everyone went to the Bogatynia Cultural Centre, where a ceremonial academy was held. Mayor Andrzej Grzmielewicz and invited guests addressed the gathering. The academy also featured a highly instructive lecture by Professor Piotr Jaroszyński.
At the end of the ceremony, those gathered were invited into the world of Fryderyk Chopin, to which musicians from the Kraków Opera transported them.
