Students of the J. Kukuczka Primary School in Ocice prepared a discussion on this subject in the form of a spoken-and-musical performance. It consisted of poetic works addressing the issue of Polish identity. Participants in the ceremony also had the opportunity to take part in a history lesson, during which the turbulent and tragic 123 years under the Prussian, Austrian and Russian partitions were recalled, and the figure of Józef Piłsudski was introduced.

Short dramatizations made it much easier for the students to understand this difficult subject, and also served as graceful interludes. Patriotic songs serving as musical accompaniment effectively enhanced the mood of solemnity and reflection. The most optimistic element, bringing the entire ceremony to a close, was the statements given by the school’s oldest students.

In a few short words, each sixth-grader expressed their opinion about their homeland. Simple yet deeply important words were spoken about attachment, pride and remembrance… There can be no doubt that “Poland has not yet perished…” and will not perish, since the youngest generation is capable of confronting the past and future of its own Homeland so consciously and maturely.
