Unfortunately, many of us are giving ourselves a terrible report card in this way. This practice is illegal and very costly. Recently, the city spent nearly PLN 180,000 on removing its consequences. Approximately 430 tonnes of rubbish were taken away.

Recently, at the municipality’s request, two large illegal rubbish dumps at Inwalidów Street (by the garages) and Radosna Street (behind the OSiR swimming pool) were cleared by LPGK services. These places have a bad reputation. As soon as the area is cleaned, the waste returns.

At Inwalidów Street, people dumped car tyres, bumpers, oil and grease containers, as well as construction waste, electronic equipment, household appliances and other waste originating directly from households. Both private and municipal areas are being littered. In October, nearly 200 tonnes of collected waste from this site were taken to the landfill.

Rubble and renovation waste are dumped at Radosna Street. They often form piled-up mounds. People get rid of furniture, household appliances and waste from allotments there. Cleaning crews removed 38 tonnes of rubbish from the site.

Illegal dumps at Myrka Street, where the “haul” amounted to more than 110 tonnes, as well as at Polkowicka and Czerwonych Maków streets, from where 80 tonnes of waste were taken to the municipal landfill, were also cleared.
