Community police officers from Police Station I in Jelenia Góra detained a 22-year-old man immediately after the crime. He is suspected of a series of property offences. The arrest took place on October 27 this year, at around 4:41 a.m. The duty officer at the Jelenia Góra Municipal Police Headquarters spotted on city CCTV a man who had smashed the window of one of the kiosks with an axe. The officer alerted the community police officers and provided them with a description of the man suspected of the offence.

When the officers arrived at the scene, the man was already gone. It turned out that he had fled and hidden in one of the gaming venues. He was… hiding behind a curtain, while an axe and a crowbar lay nearby.

The 22-year-old was placed in police custody. It turned out that he was responsible for at least 10 cellar break-ins committed in October this year in the Zabobrze estate in Jelenia Góra. His loot included suitcases, bicycles and other items.

The suspect faces up to 10 years in prison.
