- 2 November “Sicario”, in this film young FBI agent Kate Macer joins a top-secret CIA operation aimed at capturing the head of a major Mexican drug cartel. Macer gradually learns the details of an operation that often approaches the boundary of law and morality, leading into the deepest recesses of the criminal underworld. Guiding Macer through its successive circles will be a mysterious Mexican-born CIA operative known as a “consultant,” who, as it turns out, is of key importance to the entire operation. His true identity will be Macer’s greatest shock.
- 9 November “The Intruder”, the film tells a story inspired by true events, set in the Swedish countryside. Under the influence of extreme emotions, 17-year-old John commits a crime. After serving his sentence, he returns to his home region and attempts to start a new life. He is soon confronted with the past he would like to forget. “The Intruder” is the feature-film debut of Magnus von Horn, a graduate of the Łódź Film School, with cinematography by Łukasz Żal, who was nominated for an Oscar for “Ida.” The film received an award at the Gdynia Film Festival and is the only Polish feature-length production shown as part of this year’s Cannes festival.
- 16 November the English drama “45 Years”. Kate and Geoff’s 45th wedding anniversary promises to be fantastic. Just before this special day, the couple receives shocking news: the body of the husband’s former partner has been found in a glacier. The woman turns out to have been more important to him than he admitted to his wife. Will the couple still have anything to celebrate?
- 23 November the fantasy film “Reality”. To get money for his first film, Jason must find the best scream in cinema history.
- 30 November “The Yes Men Are Revolting”. For 20 years, Andy Bilchbaum and Mike Bonanno, famous activists known as the Yes Men, have organized extraordinarily bold, witty and controversial actions that attract the attention of the world’s media. The aim of their happenings was to expose human rights violations by multinational corporations that committed crimes and dishonest dealings in order to make a profit. In the third film—“The Yes Men Are Revolting”—the title characters are already in their forties, and their continued activities are threatened by a midlife crisis. Ahead of them lies their greatest challenge yet: climate change on Earth.
