The school coordinating the entire project is Osnovna Skola Odra – Zagreb (Croatia). The project also involves: Gymnazium, zakladni skola a materska skola Hello – Ostrava-Hrabuvka (Czech Republic), Masarykova zakladni skola Navsi – Navsi (Czech Republic), Zakladni skola – Humenne (Slovakia), and Scoala Gimnaziala „Ion Pop Reteganul” – Sincel (Romania).

The main aim of the project is for the participants to learn about one another’s regional and national traditions, culture and national heritage in all five partner countries. The students will conduct comparative research in seven fields:

  1. Legends, fairy tales and folktales;
  2. Wooden architecture;
  3. Pottery traditions and local artistic crafts;
  4. Characteristics of the region – language and traditions;
  5. Music and dance;
  6. Culinary traditions;
  7. Traditional costumes.

The schools participating in the project will work during lessons, in project groups, at school-wide events and within the local community. In addition, each participating school is responsible for carrying out research into selected topics. International meetings are also planned as part of the project. The meeting in Bolesławiec is scheduled for August 2016. The project will begin in November this year and last two years.

It is worth recalling that the project “United through cultural and natural diversity – learning through research” is another adventure with the Erasmus+ programme for students from Bolesławiec. In September this year, the finale of the “Small Projects Festival” was held in Bolesławiec. During the event, young researchers presented the results of their work and took part in excursions and a city game. At that time, students from Gimnazjum Samorządowe nr 3, together with their peers from Acuto (Italy), Vallecorsa (Italy), Troyan (Bulgaria) and Prnjavor (Bosnia and Herzegovina), carried out the project “Small projects of great Enthusiasts”.
