The exhibition attempts to summarize the artist’s work from receiving her diploma in ceramic design at the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass of PWSSP (now the Academy of Fine Arts) in Wrocław in 1985 to the present day.

The exhibition will feature both unique ceramics and selected functional designs that the artist designed and introduced into production during her many years of cooperation with Zakłady Ceramiczne „Bolesławiec”. Unique ceramics are the result of a fascination with the garden. The sculptures created by the artist harmonize with nature and emphasize its qualities without overpowering the vegetation.

Barbara Kozłowska-Trojnar received a one-year scholarship for Young Artists from the Minister of Culture and Art in 1986, followed by a one-year scholarship from the Legnica Voivode in 1987. During this period, she began cooperating with Zakłady Ceramiczne „Bolesławiec”, for which she designed and introduced approximately 300 functional designs into production. Several designs received awards from the Institute of Industrial Design and the Association of Polish Art Photographers. The artist’s works were presented at numerous domestic and international exhibitions, as well as at three solo exhibitions in Bolesławiec, Berlin and Opole.

The exhibition The Joy of Creating. Ceramics by Barbara Kozłowska-Trojnar can be viewed from 24 October to 15 November 2015 at the Department of City History at 14 M. Kutuzowa Street, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday to Sunday.
