Their presence prevents the spread of rodents (mice and rats), which can be a potential source of dangerous diseases. It is therefore worth ensuring that an appropriate cat population is maintained in the surrounding area.
By a resolution of 25 March 2015, the Sulików Municipal Council introduced a programme under which Sulików Municipality provides assistance to people who voluntarily care for free-roaming cats.
As part of the programme, Sulików Municipality:
- provides food
- funds sterilisation
- provides basic veterinary care.
Those interested in becoming community cat caregivers are asked to report to the Sulików Municipal Office (room 109) to complete a declaration.
