Participants in the Lower Silesian Future Jobs, Innovation and Export Fair could learn about the most promising and sought-after professions of the future, find out how to recruit new employees effectively, and discuss forms of vocational education.

As Deputy Minister Antoniszyn-Klik emphasized, educational clusters established in the Wałbrzych, Legnica and Kamienna Góra Special Economic Zones help align the offerings of vocational schools with the needs of the labor market. “Patron classes, educational fairs, awards for the most talented students, vocational training and employment after graduation in companies operating within Special Economic Zones are already happening,” said the Deputy Minister of Economy. “The Ministry of Economy is implementing a pilot program, ‘Vocational Education for the Needs of the Economy’, which serves as a bridge between education and business and is intended to begin systemic changes throughout the country, so that schools adapt their educational offerings to current developments in local labor markets. If Poland wants to have a strong industry, it must have qualified employees. That is why we must ensure that schools prepare workers specifically for industry. This can only be done through close cooperation with companies. All economic zones in Poland are required to cooperate at the interface of science and business. It is precisely in SEZs that schools and companies can receive support and learn how to reach students and employers with their offerings.

The fair also included a panel discussion entitled “Exports and Innovation 2020 – What Will It Be Like? The Impact of Human Resources Development on Export Growth”. The panel participants were: Ilona Antoniszyn-Klik – Deputy Minister of Economy, Barbara Kaśnikowska – president of the Wałbrzych SEZ “Invest-Park”, Rafał Jurkowlaniec – president of the Legnica SEZ, Iwona Krawczyk – president of the Kamienna Góra SEZ “Small Business”, Monika Ciesielska-Mróz – director of the Wrocław branch of the Polish-American Chamber of Commerce “AmCham”, Lilla Jaroń – deputy director of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Labor Office, Dr. Eng. Tadeusz Lewandowski – deputy dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Wrocław University of Science and Technology, as well as Dominika Ciara – HR director at Daicel Safety Systems, and Jerzy Pokój – chairman of the Jelenia Góra County Council.

The fair concluded with an energetic performance by the band Red Lips.
