Police officers from Police Station II in Jelenia Góra detained a 16-year-old suspected of theft. On 9 October this year, at around 6:10 a.m., the teenager passed a 95-year-old woman and suddenly snatched her canvas bag. He stole PLN 90, documents, a bank card and a rosary.
The woman immediately reported to the police station and notified officers of the crime. She provided a description, based on which the police identified the minor suspected of the offence.
The officers knew that the boy liked to spend his time in gambling venues. Twenty minutes after the crime, they detained him in one of them, not far from the scene. He was playing on gaming machines.
At first, the boy evaded questions and denied the theft, but when the victim identified him, he pointed out where he had hidden the loot. The police recovered all the stolen items and PLN 40. The teenager had already lost the remaining amount on the machines.
His further fate will be decided by the family court.
