On Sunday, Bolesławiec volleyball players competing in the fourth division and the cadet league played their next matches. The fourth-division team defeated KS MPK Bogatynia 3:0 (25:22, 25:17, 25:20). The team coached by Bogusław Mienculewicz held the advantage throughout the match. The players from Bogatynia, meanwhile, played somewhat timidly. Effective serving, confident setting and solid attacking secured the victory for the Bolesławiec team.

The Bolesławiec players opened the first set with effective serves and dictated the terms of play from the very beginning. In the second set, TOP easily overcame their opponents, playing quick and accurate balls, while the score of 25:17 itself testified to the helplessness of the players from Bogatynia. The Bolesławiec team entered the third set with great confidence; the score remained close, point for point, until 10:10. After that, only TOP remained on top of the court. Kozłowski and Potocki scored effectively, while libero Kamil Biczak played flawlessly in the back row. Świerzewski and Pierzchalski took turns sending powerful, accurate serves into the opponents’ court.

After the victory, the players and coach made no secret of their joy. “The team is already well coordinated and solid. Everyone has a strong substitute, and on the court they have to give everything to play in the starting lineup,” coach Bogusław Mienculewicz said after the match. TOP Bolesławiec currently occupies fifth place in the Lower Silesian fourth division.

TOP lineup in Sunday’s match: Induła, Czarniecki, Świerzewski, Kolator, Dudak, Chmielowski, Potocki, Kozłowski, Mosiądz, Pierzchalski, Biczak.

Another Cadet Tournament

On Sunday, TOP Bolesławiec hosted another cadet tournament for the Lower Silesian Men’s Volleyball Championship. The competition took place in the I LO gymnasium on Tyrankiewiczów Street. This time, the teams of Lider Dzierżoniów and Cuprum Lubin came to Bolesławiec. In the opening match, TOP faced Lider Dzierżoniów. The cadets, coached by Jerzy Nastula and playing with mixed fortunes, struggled to defeat their peers from Dzierżoniów. The 3:2 score (25:16, 17:25, 19:25, 25:22, 15:7) reflected the intensity of the match, in which the Bolesławiec team only proved its superiority in the fifth set.

In the tournament’s second match, Lider Dzierżoniów easily defeated Cuprum Lubin 3:0 (25:22, 25:18, 25:15). The team from Lubin consisted of players from a single school. The Lubin players performed averagely, offering little resistance to the well-organized Dzierżoniów team.

The final match of the tournament was Cuprum Lubin versus TOP Bolesławiec. The well-playing Bolesławiec team showed already in the first set who would control the match, winning 25:12. After such a devastating setback, the Lubin players performed even worse, losing the second set 25:9.

In the third set, Bolesławiec’s starting six alternated with reserve players. As a result, the score remained tied until 20:20. At the right moment, coach Nastula returned to the starting six, and the set ended 25:21 in favor of the Bolesławiec team. TOP played effectively in both matches. The cadet team consists mostly of players who compete regularly in the fourth division. They hone their volleyball skills in the cadet league. TOP Bolesławiec ultimately won the tournament and took first place in the final standings. The teams from Dzierżoniów and Lubin finished in the next positions.

The TOP team featured: Nastula, Czarniecki, Suszko, Wiatrowski, Dużyński, Kędziora, Leszczyński, Marcinkiewicz, Świerzewski, Biczak, Mariowski and Prokowski.
