In April this year, in the article Outhouse by Freedom Square we wrote:
– The park on Ogrodowa is terribly neglected – a Reader who lives near the site told us. – The grass has run wild in the flower beds, the gravel paths are overgrown, and worst of all, people have turned the area behind the Borderlands Residents’ Monument into an outhouse.
– What is more – the man stressed – someone was throwing stones at this monument. The condition of this park has annoyed me for a long time. And it is not about paving everything. But the flower beds could be reshaped, the gravel paths remade and the weeds growing in the middle removed. There are also too few benches; there is nowhere to sit here.
We were there at the time. And, in our opinion, it was not as bad then as the Reader described it. That does not change the fact that Freedom Square is now even more beautiful.
Red-and-white flower beds and a flower bed appeared here in spring. – Now, although it is already autumn, the weather is conducive to their blooming – says Grażyna Strzyżewska, deputy head of the Municipal Housing Management Company Grażyna Strzyżewska. – The MZGM employees decide on the form of the flower beds, the flower bed and the types of flowers intended for planting, drawing on the knowledge of the greenery inspector. I would add that one of the MZGM employees has undertaken postgraduate studies in landscape architecture, and we will draw on her acquired knowledge when creating more places that beautify our city.
