At 11:30 p.m. on 24 July 2015, the Police Station in Bogatynia was notified of a robbery committed that day against Regina B., during which a masked perpetrator, using a dangerous weapon in the form of a knife and physical violence consisting of pulling and shoving, took PLN 300 from the victim.

Four days later, on 28 July 2015, the Police Station was notified of a burglary at Regina B.’s apartment, which had taken place during the night of 27–28 July 2015. The perpetrator entered through the kitchen window and then forced the lock on the front door, after which he took a television worth PLN 700.

Another robbery took place on 6 August 2015, targeting Teresa S. The masked perpetrator, again using a dangerous weapon in the form of a knife and physical violence, took PLN 220.

Two days later, on 8 August 2015, the Police Station was notified of a burglary at Teresa S.’s apartment. The perpetrator entered through the bathroom window and then forced open the front door, after which he took a television worth PLN 1,200.

It was established that both victims were elderly—85 and 82 years old—and lived in Bogatynia, in the same building.

During the investigation, the perpetrator of the aforementioned crimes was identified as Sławomir W.

When questioned as a suspect, he confessed to committing the acts of which he was accused and gave explanations consistent with the established facts.

At the request of the District Prosecutor in Zgorzelec, the local District Court ordered Sławomir W. to be held in pre-trial detention for two months.

The suspect had previously been convicted. He faces at least three years in prison.
