They were surprised by the renovated historic buildings, the natural surroundings and the beauty of the home gardens. In Rudna, they saw the historic Orthodox church and town hall, the restored Radomiłów Palace, the market square in Chobienia, the modern bridge over the Odra in Radoszyce and the municipality’s recreational areas. – We were impressed by the tremendous hospitality and openness of the municipal authorities – emphasizes Tadeusz Madetko, chairman of the Association of Pensioners. – Previously, we visited localities in Lubin rural municipality and Ścinawa. Rudna captivates with its order and cleanliness. A great deal has changed here. There are beautiful recreational areas and many historic buildings. You can see the good hand of a capable administrator – he adds.
The activity of pensioners from Lubin County is supported by the authorities of Rudna municipality, as well as by Ścinawa and Lubin County. – Rudna stands out for its activity, as well as its natural surroundings and historic buildings – responds Adam Myrda, Lubin County head, when asked what distinguishes the municipality.
The market square in Rudna itself made a tremendous impression. The meeting participants did not hide their opinion that it was the first time they had seen such a well-maintained small town. They also learned about the extraordinary history of its residents. Some came from the Eastern Borderlands, there is a large Lemko community, and many people settled here after the establishment of the Copper Basin.
– The local government supports and will support every form of activity that brings people closer together. This is the key to getting to know one another and talking. When anonymity disappears, we can be together and act together – says Władysław Bigus, head of Rudna Municipality.
