and, in particular, during the so-called days in the diocese, which will take place 5 days before the start of the Central Events in Kraków.
As Fr Robert Bielawski, World Youth Day coordinator in Jelenia Góra, recalls:
Anyone who would like to help and share their skills and talents is welcome. We want to welcome young people from all over the world—around 2,000 people—in the best way we can. To do this, we will work together in various organisational areas.
On 12 September (Saturday), the 1st World Youth Day Campus Jelenia Góra Volunteer Meeting will be held at the Church of Our Lady of Mercy (23 PCK Street). “We want to familiarise everyone with the outline plan for the days that young people will spend in our city; afterwards, there will be meetings in diaconates and sections, where everyone will be able to find their place and fulfil themselves. We hope many people will attend this meeting to understand what a huge undertaking awaits us as hosts,” says Monika Petelska, a volunteer responsible for logistics during World Youth Day in Jelenia Góra.
Who can find a place among World Youth Day volunteers? We certainly need people with musical talents—singers and instrumentalists; those who will translate the most important events; people interested in the media: filming, photography, writing texts, and managing websites and social media; lectors and altar servers; people for first aid and reception, and many others.
The programme and detailed information are available on the website of the World Youth Day Centre of the Legnica Diocese: www.domusmariae.pl.
