Officers from the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters arrested a man suspected of robbery involving a dangerous tool. He turned out to be a 27-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County.
The crime took place on 19 August 2015 in one of the grocery shops in Bolesławiec. Threatening the cashier with a knife, the perpetrator demanded money from the cash register. The thief made off with 700 zlotys. The surveillance system at the shop where the robbery took place recorded the entire incident.
After the perpetrator’s image was published in the local media, police officers received valuable information from one of the residents of Bolesławiec County. The 27-year-old suspected of committing the robbery was arrested, and during a search of residential premises, police officers secured the knife used during the crime.
The detainee confessed to committing the alleged offence. On the basis of the evidence gathered and at the request of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec, the court ordered that the 27-year-old be remanded in custody for three months.
The man faces up to 15 years in prison.
