Midnight Blues was formed in 2007 (the current lineup took shape in 2015). The band’s music is broadly understood blues with elements of rock and fusion. The group took part in many blues competitions, achieving high places, most often first. It is currently working on new material that it wants to record. The band consists of experienced musicians, often playing in an open form. This means that the music is created here and now. Midnight Blues concerts are a dose of energy after which everyone should feel better.
Band members:
- Jarek Saniewski – vocals
- Paweł Wawrzyniak – guitar
- Jacek Talko – guitar
- Mariusz Wilanowski – harmonica
- Krzysztof Borowski – bass
- Stanisław Krawczyk – drums.
The band The Mohers Band was formed in October 2007. As they say:
We are a group of rock’n’roll enthusiasts, and each of us comes from a different “world”—musically speaking, of course. The difference in temperaments and the band members’ diverse musical tastes mean that the group’s music is neither exclusively blues nor exclusively rock. It is a mixture, the result of our musical preferences, tastes and fascinations. The group was founded by guitarist Kuba Chomiak. The catalyst that made him decide that “now” was the moment to start a band was meeting the group’s current vocalist, Kamil Kulczycki, because it is not easy to find someone who is credible in this musical genre. Next came the second guitarist and drummer. Everything was falling into place nicely until the bassist, who had initially expressed a desire to take part in the project, withdrew due to lack of time, leaving the bassist position open. Rafał Duszyński came to the rescue of his discouraged nephew Kuba, who had been searching, and after many conversations and “challenging” his rock’n’roll ambition, finally decided to become the head of The Mohers Band’s rhythm section. During our eight years of activity, we have played dozens of concerts in clubs and outdoor venues, often together with stars of Polish music from the borderland between blues and rock. For various reasons, the band’s lineup changed quite frequently. As of today, in addition to the core of the band (Rafał, Kamil and Kuba), the group includes Krzysztof “Krzysiuniuniu” Gumienny on guitar and Stanisław “Marysia” Krawczyk on drums. We create our own music, but we do not shy away from covers, which add lustre to every band concert.
Hard Times are three musical gentlemen from Kraków who play a little blues, a little folk, sometimes sadly about love and sometimes cheerfully about the charms of life. They play beautiful songs, free of unnecessary extravagance, full of rough, masculine lyricism, songs that either clutch at the throat or sweep you onto the dance floor. They are invited to international festivals because no one had previously mixed gospel with flamenco or blues with a Kraków ballad. Despite this stylistic ambiguity, Łukasz Wiśniewski was recognised as the best harmonica player of 2011 in a survey by the “Twój Blues” magazine, while Piotr Grząślewicz was named the best guitarist. A year later, the album “Trio” won the title of Album of the Year 2012 in the Bluesonline.pl portal’s poll.
