The new developments include a greater number of sports-focused classes at the School Complex in Rudna and, at the parents’ request, the introduction of English from the first grade as the leading language. German will be the supplementary language.

– Sports activities are important at our school and are hugely popular with children and young people, shaping their resilience, discipline and diligence. From September, we are expanding our offer with additional karate classes led by a qualified coach. We are also launching a new sports class focused on football – says Zbigniew Grabowski, head of the School Complex in Rudna.

In Chobienia, students will traditionally continue developing their skills in floorball and badminton. Both institutions are planning even more effective cooperation with students and parents, which translates not only into educational results, but above all creates natural centres of education, family recreation and cultural activity around both schools.

– School and preschool complexes are an important element in shaping the local community for the municipality. This year we have six-year-olds who have started school for the first time. To ensure the best possible start to their education, we decided that the municipality would employ assistants to help the children while they are at school; they will help them change clothes, unpack their schoolbags, use the toilet or find the school cafeteria. The assistants are experienced educators who, together with the teachers, will create a warm, homelike atmosphere for the children – emphasizes Władysław Bigus, head of Rudna Municipality.

The municipality will also subsidize school lunches. Parents will pay 3 złoty for a two-course meal, while the municipality will cover the remainder—approximately 150,000 złoty—from its own budget.
