– Our organization cares greatly about ensuring that as many children as possible from families with a lower material status attend our camps, say the organizers. – We are trying to obtain as much funding as possible to subsidize the stay of children who, without our help, probably would not go anywhere for the holidays.
Thanks to cooperation with the Municipal Social Welfare Centre in Bolesławiec, 39 children attended the camp free of charge or for a symbolic fee. In addition, 64 camp participants from the poorest families received subsidies from grants provided by Bolesławiec City Hall and the Polska Miedź Foundation. The amounts ranged from PLN 400 to PLN 800. In total, approximately 83% of the children attended the camp free of charge or with substantial funding.
The camp programme was very varied. The children spent their time actively. They went to the beach and took walks through the beautiful surrounding forests. Many events, games, competitions and sports activities were organized for them. All competitions were rewarded with certificates, sweet prizes and small gifts.
There was no time for boredom; every child could find something for themselves among the activities on offer. The campers took part in appealing excursions. They sailed by ship and yachts on Lake Wicko, visited the Museum of the Pomeranian Dukes and the Amber Museum. They visited the “Labyrinth” Educational Farm in Paproty and a Lego brick exhibition; they also climbed ropes in the Rope Park.
In addition to a donation from the “Polska Miedź” Foundation, TPD received a PLN 15,000 grant from Bolesławiec City Hall.
