Here is the schedule of upcoming activities at the St. Gianna Beretta Molla Specialist Family Counseling Center in Lubin (32 Orla Street), co-financed by the City of Lubin and the Diocese of Legnica:

    • A meeting with a speech therapist for parents of six- and seven-year-olds – how to support a child at the threshold of school education? The impact of language skills on academic performance and a child’s adjustment in first grade – will be held at the Counseling Center in Lubin on Saturday, August 29, at 12:00 p.m. (until approximately 2:00 p.m.). The meeting will be led by Renata Prok, MA, a speech therapist and educator with many years of experience, who works daily with school- and preschool-age children. For organizational reasons, the Counseling Center is accepting registrations for the meeting by telephone (697 672 275) and by email (poradniajbm@diecezja.legnica.pl) until August 27. Participation is free of charge.
    • Workshops for parents ˜– will be held at the Lubin Counseling Center on the first and third Monday of each month at 5:00 p.m.. The first meeting will take place on September 7 at 5:00 p.m.. The meetings include practical exercises on the following topics:
      1. How to open up a child and encourage them to talk every day, as well as in difficult and conflict situations
      2. Techniques for motivating a child; supporting and reinforcing positive behavior
      3. How to build positive relationships between siblings and prevent conflicts
      4. Methods for dealing with difficult parenting situations; methods for overcoming a child’s initial resistance and opening them up to finding solutions
      5. How intelligent is my child? – learning about the characteristics of different types of intelligence and techniques for strengthening a given type
      6. Practical exercises based on situational scenes.
      The workshops will be led by Aneta Rams, a graduate of the Academy of Leaders of Schools of Upbringing and Communication in the Family, a wife and mother. Registrations are accepted by telephone at the Counseling Center or by email until the end of August
    • Workshops for married couples, “The Pillars of Marriage” – covering the four pillars of marriage—love, truth, freedom and boundaries—and intended both for young marriages and those with more years of experience, will be held at the Lubin Counseling Center on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at 10:00 a.m.. They will be led by Elżbieta Łozińska from Wrocław, a psychological and educational counselor, NEST therapist, wife and mother. Participation in the workshops is free of charge; registration is open until September 22 by telephone and email at the Counseling Center.
    • Workshops for fathers, “Closer – Full Connection” – an event for men who want to strengthen their fathering skills and become heroes to their children – will be held at the Lubin Counseling Center on Saturday, November 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.. The “Closer...” workshops aim to provide methods for deepening the father–child relationship. The activities are based on four pillars of effective fatherhood: involvement, consistency, knowing the child and care. The workshops will be led by trainers from the Tato.Net initiative.     • A retreat for young married couples (with up to 10 years of marriage), “God, Her and Him” – organized by the Family Ministry of the Diocese of Legnica, will take place from October 16 to 18 at the Retreat House in Lwówek Śląski (2 Szpitalna Street)—starting on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and ending on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.. It will be led by Rev. Dr. Eugeniusz Ploch from the Resurrexit Academic Ministry in Opole. The program includes conferences, Masses, time for conversation, time to renew the marital relationship and one’s relationship with God. Cost: PLN 240 per couple (accommodation in double rooms with bathrooms)—if the fee is an obstacle to participation, the organizers ask participants to contact them.
