Fr. Andrzej Jarosiewicz has been and remains the parish priest of the Parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Nicholas. In recent years, he was also dean of the Bolesławiec East deanery, but following the changes in June, this function is now held by Fr. Andrzej Kryłowski from Raciborowice Górne.

“The term of office has ended. That’s all. By the bishop’s decision, a new one was chosen. The deanery remains as it was, but it is now based in Raciborowice. The function of dean has nothing to do with the function of parish priest. One serves as dean for a time, but one is a parish priest permanently,” says Fr. Waldemar Wesołowski, spokesperson for the Legnica curia.

A deanery is an organizational unit of the Church. It is led by a different priest every few years. He visits the parishes in the area. A deanery may include anywhere from several to a dozen or so parishes.
