It is not black humor; search engines do not possess it. It is a surprising and difficult-to-explain error in Google Maps concerning one of the parishes in Bolesławiec. Google Maps probably do not sufficiently normalize the rather macabre Polish names of Catholic parishes.

The dedication to the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ comes directly from the official name of the liturgical feast, commonly known as Corpus Christi. According to Catholics, during the Last Supper Jesus Christ transformed bread into his body and wine into his blood. And the disciples consumed them.

The Catholic Church celebrates the feast of Corpus Christi, whose origins date back to 1264, when Pope Urban IV established the feast. The pope’s decision was connected with the so-called Eucharistic miracle. The event took place when an Italian priest, experiencing doubts about the real transformation of bread into the Body of Christ during consecration, witnessed an extraordinary phenomenon—the host in his hands allegedly began to bleed.

Viewed through the eyes of a person of another faith or an unbeliever, it must be admitted that a church dedicated to the Body and Blood of Christ may appear frightening. Below are screenshots showing the name of the parish on Orzeszkowej Street.
