The official opening of the 21st Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival began on the steps of the Town Hall. Janina Bany-Kozłowska experienced very solemn and moving moments as she became an honorary citizen of the city and warmly thanked her colleagues from Zakłady Ceramiczne Bolesławiec, the local-government authorities of the city, municipality and county, artists, and everyone who creates our city and strives to make it more beautiful.

The handprint of the company’s chief designer and outstanding Polish artist will be placed in Bolesławiec’s Walk of Fame, which pleased Karol Stasik, president of Z.C. Bolesławiec, the most.

The Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Economy praised the city’s mayor, Piotr Roman, for his enormous achievements in developing Bolesławiec. “I know that some cities develop very well, like Bolesławiec, while others develop less successfully. This is largely thanks to the person who manages the city and the way they do it,” said Ilona Antoniszyn-Klik.

The festival began with the handover of the keys to the city and, despite earlier announcements, they were not handed directly to Janina Bany-Kozłowska. The Ceramic Brotherhood did not give up its honor of ruling the city during the Ceramic Festival. Only after a moment did Paweł Zwierz give the key to the designer, but he held on to it for a very long time.
