Janina Bany-Kozłowska, who has been awarded the silver Gloria Artis medal, will also become the first woman among Bolesławiec’s honorary citizens. The ceremony will take place during the official opening of the Ceramic Festival on Friday, August 21, at 6:00 p.m., in front of the main entrance to the Town Hall.

Piotr Roman will place the keys to the city in the hands of an exceptional and famous Bolesławiec artist and chief designer of the “Bolesławiec” Ceramic Works during the ceremony. In the course of her work, Janina Bany-Kozłowska has created more than 1,500 designs and received numerous awards, medals and distinctions, while her ceramic sculptures and vessels have been and continue to be exhibited in Poland, Europe and the United States of America.

The honorary citizens of Bolesławiec are: Dean Father Władysław Rączka, Dean Father Edward Bober, Adam Wacław Kowalski, Ryszard Tomczyk, former mayor of Siegburg Rolf Krieger, and Hubert Bonin.

Until now, the keys to the city were presented, through senior member Stanisław Wiza, to the Ceramic Brotherhood, created in 2009 on the initiative and through the efforts of BOK-MCC director Ewa Lijewska-Małachowska.
