Learning German is a real ordeal for many people... and even more of us make the basic mistake of trying to learn by translating individual words or sentences. However, “memorized” phrases disappear from our minds after just a few days. This is an unnatural way to learn, which is why the results are usually poor—before we say something in German, we construct the sentence in Polish in our minds and only then translate it for ourselves... This takes time and will never allow us to communicate fluently.
Like every language, German has its own rules—very extensive declension, a complicated sentence structure, and noun articles. In this respect, however, it does not differ that much from other languages. German does have the advantage of highly logical grammar, far fewer tenses than the most popular language, English, and articles that are declined, but only through four cases. In addition, strict rules govern the language. Once we master them, everything will become easier.
German pronunciation itself can cause considerable difficulties. If we want to learn the language really well, it is not so simple at all. For most people learning German, pronunciation difficulties are caused by sounds that do not exist in Polish (e.g. ü, ö), as well as one-syllable words with a long vowel in the middle (e.g. süß, früh). Speaking with a good accent requires familiarity with the language, opportunities to listen to German and exposure to it. The best solution is therefore learning German through conversations with a teacher.
Online lessons with a teacher are becoming increasingly popular in the foreign-language learning market. These are individual classes that allow the teacher to give you their full attention. You have the chance to become accustomed to the language and use it on an ongoing basis. Learning German will take as much time and cost as much money as you want it to. You choose when you want to arrange a lesson with the teacher, and you can also choose from various price options. Learning German can be easy and enjoyable; it does not have to be a nightmare.
